Maryland Golf Courses -- Upland Golf Course

The Upland Golf Club began as a featureless soybean field, lacking both topography and vegetation. Despite the lack of natural design features, the site offered one terrific advantage -- design flexibility. By starting with a blank slate, the course was routed to allow for maximum excitement and strategic interest, yet remaining playable for the high handicap golfer.

An interconnected water system consisting of ponds, streams and waterfalls is the backbone of the golf course. Large, naturally appearing bulk fills were created with over 600,000 cubic yards of material excavated from the water system. Tees and greens are often sculpted into common high points offering commanding views of the property.

Upland's forgiving playability and softer appearance lends itself toward a prairie style links layout. Upland Golf Club utilizes the ever-present Eastern Shore winds, native grasses, and classic links design principals of width and varying angles of attack to create strategic and beautiful golf holes. The result is a truly unique golf experience.
